I was unable to purchase a La Cimbali Junior DT1 because it required a direct water inlet, thus requiring a water filter, necessitating breaking the wall to get piping were I wanted it.
The La Marzocco Mini would have been the perfect replacement has it had a water tank. But it was too tall to fit underneath the kitchen cabinet where I had space to fit it.
Now with the Micra, I will finally be able to get a La Marzocco….
I think the Lelit Bianca v3 trumps the micra and mini. Not as pretty IMO, but seemingly more control. Now, just need someone to create a ‘best of both’ and I have my dream machine… preferably La Marzocco branded with premium trims as standard and full color options. For this price point, I don’t think that’s too much to ask…
The LM is freaking awesome . I got one and I wouldn’t trade it for a Slayer, Decent or Micra . It’s a beast that’s easily handled. Get one and you’ll never regret it. It’s not the diminutive offspring!
Depends, I usually make several milk based drinks at a time so I need lots of space on the tray and on the cup heater (top). That's one of the reasons I choose my mini. But the mini is a big machine. If I was low in counter space the micra would be great.
So followers of this channel, what's the best espresso machine for $3200-$3500 range?
I think it really just kicks the mini over to specifically a light-commercial machine & the home toy for rich people who want the nicest thing… I think there’s likely room in the market for both in that regard

Help needed: I Have been eyeing with a LM linea mini for years now. The new linea micra could be an option but still which would you suggest to go for for a home use? I could handle the price difference. The plastic portafilter sounds strange to be honest. The size of the micra is welcoming as they seemed to put nearly everything from the mini into this
Great video and thank you for posting it. I have a 20 month old Linea Mini, sadly this is its 4th breakdown, packed in again at Christmas😢. My machine has had a new board, numerous problems with water overheating, engineer blamed the LM app!, eventually it went away for 2, yes 2 months for repair. On Christmas Eve it popped all the power in my house, checked trip switches, coffee machine socket, machine won’t heat now, checked all resets, none have popped at all. Sadly LM are closed till the 9th of January, by the time it’s all repaired, I’m not expecting it to be back till February, I think it’s been a Friday afternoon build, really disgusted by this machine.
Keep up the good work, I just love your videos, maybe you could recommend a good reliable machine for me?.

I wouldn’t mind this but I love my Rocket and the spout is on the left side (I’m left-handed). This would be comparable with an Appartmento except I would prefer a shot clock. The low clearance of the portafilter spout is also a concern as taller cups will come into contact when you remove it.
Those LEDs on the Micra are disgusting. It just doesn't have the timeless aesthetic qualities of the Mini.
The Lines Micra is at an enticing price! The one thing that puts me off is the black polymer attachments. Was wondering if the Micra takes the standard portafilter that goes with the Linea Mini and the Classic? Oh and that small steaming wand.

So the mini has wooden knobs, why does the micra has everything in plastic? Especially at that price range that seems off.
How long does it take to heat up half an hour, id prob have made a few cups of coffee by then using my GCP😂😂😂 waste of money.
I really don't think so dude. The Micra sits at a different price point and a great move for La Marzocco to try and grab some more market share from ECM and the dual boiler market of around $3k. Sure you'll spend more but you get the Linea name and La Marzocco quality everyone talks about at a price you couldn't otherwise.
Can you still fit a full size, double spouted, stainless steel, La Marzocco portafilter on the Micra?
I will have to disagree with the statement that it will kill Mini sales.
What this does is bring an easy entry into the brand. If looking at a dual boiler many of the popular choices are ECM/Profitec/Rocket of which are 3k-3.5k depending on options.
It is much easier to jump to a product from a manufacturer that is of known quality for roughly 10-12% increase in retail cost than to double the retail cost first looking at spending.
The same reason luxury vehicle manufacturers have "entry" level vehicles are to get people into the brand with the hope they upgrade in the future being happy with value/performance of the entry level.
This is by far one of the best business decisions they could have done.

The micra looks cheap. When I seen the plastic double spouted portafilter attachment I was done.
I've watched your old videos about Linea Mini and I have a feeling that the price which we have to pay for Linea Micra now is not so much less than the price for Linea Mini few years ago… So we get a smaller espresso machine for almost the same price (more like $1'000 difference) of a bigger one in the pass… Do I see it right? I understand that nowadays the price of an old Linea Mini went up and we will have about $2'000 difference, while comparing the actual prices…
la Marzocco want to compete with mass market.
Nah.. MINI is here to stay. Target audience is Nespresso lovers with too much money…they will still have their plastic components 😅
I think they’ll keep both with the Mini aimed at the light commercial market. The Micro for the high end home user.
