Best videos about travelling to Thailand I've seen so far. Really honest- not dressed up to make a place seem better than it is. Your honesty makes me want to visit this island more than some flashy video would. We are seeing the island beginning of January 2023 so hopefully there will be more people around
Were there in 2012 and it was a very chill place with a lot of nice divingsites. There were not so many big resorts back then, but it seems to be nice eventhough a lot of have changed. Nice people, nice memories.

I have been a few times. Looks so quiet but actually quiet is ok for me . Hope to get back again one day. Thanks for a great video and update. Definitely my favourite island along with koh samet. Mountain resort is awesome. Lots of good places all over the island . Prices really up since 2010. No more 50 baht beers …

I was there in 2013. At that time only little wooden huts, no fresh water, no hot water, no resorts. pristine beaches.

All services have been hit over the last two years by the COVID pandemic
But worth the trip

Was expecting to see some sunrises and sunsets
I visited and stayed in kohl’s lime for the first time in 2004 , and it was a pure jewel. A few resorts only, no road, the most beautiful beach for me was at the north of the island, sea water amazing and when you were standing in the sea on the shoreline plenty of colorful fishes would play around your ankles. A few meters from the beach, in the sea sea anemones were swarming with plenty of clown fishes playing around… To go from papaya beach to the three other ones you had to take a long boat or cross the island by a footpath through the jungle where you could see monkeys … We came back almost every two years to find this paradise more and more invaded by resorts, cemented roads, the chaolay original population being concentrated in a small village as the island had been purchased by very rich Thais who sent people from the mainland to work during peak seasons. My last trip was in 2013 and I was horrified to see what could become a gem of an island trough exploitation for mass tourism. No more jungle, or so little left, no more corals and fishes close to the beaches, and an enormous mountain of trash in the middle, sort of landfill tras bags waiting to be carried away by boat I guess (and hoped)So when I see this video I know I won’t ever go back to Lipe. For twenty two years I have been traveling to Thailand and visited almost all of the islands and witnessed the same for everyone’s more or less… A very few places exist still, not destroyed but I would not give away those few paradise’s left. Nevertheless Thaïlande remains one of my favorite places on earth.
I hope the island can recover, so sad to see it looking deserted. I was there in February 2020 and it really is a paradise Island.
Thank you for the video! We were there in 2019 when world started to shut down, we left on the last boat out before Thailand close the country. So sad the island still looks just like the day we left. We are going back in 2023 (to finish our vacation that was cut short last time), we hope business will pick back up for the sake of people who live on the island.
I remember when “walking street” was made out of sand! Only small little “shacks” no real brick building or anything like that……

I visited here 10 years ago and it has been so built up now, it's crazy.
I was there a couple of years ago, and its such a shame to see it as it is now.. i stayed at Mali Resort Pattaya and its amzing!
